Wedding FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

LEt's Get to the Bottom of It

01. How much does full-service wedding floral design cost?

Our full-service wedding floral and event design begins at $15,000, including design, flowers, production labor, delivery, installation and strike as applicable.

We can focus exclusively on flowers, or help bring the larger visual experience together through rentals, candles, draping, lighting, custom décor and other design elements.

If you're working with a full-service wedding planner, many of those details may already be handled. If you're working with a coordinator, however, having one creative team oversee the flowers and many of the visual details can be incredibly valuable. It keeps everything under one creative vision and helps create a celebration that feels cohesive from beginning to end.

02. When Should We book Our Wedding Florist?

We generally recommend reserving your wedding florist about a year before your wedding, especially if there is a particular designer you know you want to work with.

That said, we've created beautiful weddings with only a few months of planning, and we've worked with other clients for nearly two years.

The most important question is simply: Are we available for your date?

If you know you'd like to work with VCFE, we recommend reserving your date first. You don't need to have the design figured out yet. We can brainstorm along the way and typically begin diving more deeply into the creative direction and overall wedding design around nine months before the celebration.

o3. Do we need to know which flowers we want?

Absolutely not. In fact, we often prefer that you don't begin with a specific flower list.

We'd much rather understand the look, feeling, colors, movement and overall design you're drawn to. If there are flowers you absolutely love—or definitely don't—we want to know that, too.

Designing around an overall aesthetic rather than requiring specific varieties also gives us greater creative flexibility. Flowers are agricultural products, and availability can change because of weather, growing conditions, transportation, global events or unexpected price increases.

By focusing on the feeling rather than a recipe of specific blooms, we can make thoughtful substitutions when necessary and protect both the integrity of the design and your investment.

04. Can VCFE provide candles, draping and rentals?

Absolutely—and we love when we have the opportunity to consider these elements alongside the flowers.

To us, flowers are the finishing layer of a much bigger picture. Before we add them, we want to think about the room, floor plan, linens, lighting, candles, draping, furniture, rentals and the way guests will experience the space.

Bringing several of those visual elements under one creative direction can make the final design more cohesive and, often, more cost-effective. Rather than selecting each detail independently, we're able to ask: What does this space actually need to feel extraordinary?

05. Do you Travel Outside Maryland?

Absolutely. We go where our clients take us. :)

For destination weddings and events outside Maryland, travel and associated production costs are added based on the location and scope of the project.

For each destination, we determine the smartest combination of our core VCFE designers and trusted local production support. That allows us to bring the creative leadership and quality our clients expect while being thoughtful about logistics and travel expenses.

06. How Involved is the Design Process?

We go deep—but our goal is never to make the process feel like another job for you.

We want to understand your priorities, your style, the feeling you're trying to create, what matters most to you and what doesn't feel like you at all.

Our questionnaires, conversations, visual presentations and design process are intentionally structured to guide discovery rather than create homework.

You'll be involved in the decisions that matter. We'll manage the hundreds of details behind them.

The process should feel exciting, collaborative and creative—not overwhelming.
